DH boxes - the insulation system for district heating applications
As specified in §6 paragraph 1 of the former Heating Systems Ordinance, and in accordance with Annex 5 of the Energy Conservation Ordinance (EnEV) introduced in 2002, all components of a district heating transmission station must be adequately insulated. To ensure trouble-free maintenance of the station after commissioning, often removable insulation elements are demanded.
The DH box system (District Heating Boxes) is a specially developed insulating program for efficient and cost-effective insulation of district heating transfer stations. It consists of molded PUR rigid foam parts that are suitable for insulating pipes, bends and all fittings.
Thanks to dramatic savings in installation costs the DH box system is a cost-effective alternative to all conventional types of insulation.
Use of the DH boxes reduces the calculation risk considerably as the individual insulating components can be taken from the system drawing and thus the material requirements can be specified in advance.
Processing of the DH boxes is possible in the manufacturing plant of the transfer station, and it is also possible on site after commissioning. The DH boxes are mounted with clamping rings around the pipelines and fittings. Thus the insulation shells can be taken off quickly and easily.
